 History   

Applied Health Physics, Inc. has been providing quality radiological safety and consulting services to industry, learning institutions and government agencies for over forty years.  Our clients include steel manufacturers, oil refineries and chemical companies, airlines and aircraft manufacturers, hospitals and research centers, universities, construction and engineering firms, landfills, scrap yards, industrial manufacturers, and major environmental companies.  Services include training, consulting services, on-site services, instrumentation, analytical services and special services, including emergency response and bolting and unbolting of radiation gauges.                                                    

Applied Health Physics, Inc. maintains all licenses, permits and insurance as required.  Our technical staff includes Certified Health Physicists, Industrial Hygienists, nuclear technicians, and laboratory personnel.

In 1962 Applied Health Physics, Inc. was founded by Robert G. Gallaghar.  Mr. Gallaghar is a Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Health Physicist, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.  In addition to being President of Applied Health Physics, Inc., Mr. Gallaghar has been employed in various companies providing radiological consulting for federal, state and local regulatory agencies, insurance loss prevention, accident investigation, expert witness, editor of the first “Hospital Occupational Health Services Study”, graduate school professor, director of field studies and research, author, lecturer and researcher on radiological health.  Mr. Gallaghar has also been the member of 12 corporate boards of directors including industry, hospitals and technical societies and has been a member of a U.S. Delegation to the USSR on nuclear waste problems at Chernobyl.
